**Warning** I start this post recounting a dream. Click here to avoid.
Or
I had a fear of zombie attack dream the other morning. It was the kind of dream that felt like a recurring one but I am not 100 % sure it is one I’ve had before. I remember thinking during the dream ‘I’ve had this before’. Anyway, it was vague, but I was in a street I used to live on and I was trying to get in to my old house and into my old bedroom that used to look out on the street. But I couldn’t get in. I didn’t witness any zombies but felt their presence or knew they were coming. It was a very brief interlude between, calmly falling down a waterfall while smoking a cigarette and landing on my feet in a forest and watching a buddhist monk revitalise a stream by running up it with a chain, and waking up.
Do you remember that guy who tweeted about the plane crash he had just been in (reminder)?
On waking up I wondered how a real outbreak of Zombies would be covered by Twitter:
Help me help me aaaarrrrrggghhhhh-eeeuuh
A bit Holy Grail but I couldn’t resist.
A spontaneous outbreak on Twitter for the sheer why-the-hell-not.
As I was looking for links for this post I think I found the culprit for the momentary fear I experienced in my dream. I had read about this book. Although I don’t recall what I was wearing.

It’s being published by Quirk Books (but their website is not being kind to me).
Yes the dream makes sense now and it looks like Alison Flood is going to have nightmares too. And it’s likely the Zombie Outbreak on Twitter idea was stolen from the T-Mobile flash dancing advert.
I’m being drawn towards suggesting that a viral marketing campaign on Twitter for Seth Grahame-Smith’s book would be a good idea. I know, I couldn’t help state the obvious, but here is the feed (let me know if that link worked or see screen shot below) to what people on Twitter are currently saying about this book. They can’t wait to read it. You might be able to enlist them to help starting a zombie outbreak thingo in exchange for free copies. It’s worth a try.
A rubbish screen shot but trust me it does say they are looking forward to the release of this book.
So there we have it. I started this post with the intention of exploring an idea I had one morning and instead have managed to unintentionally contrive a marketing campaign.
Oh yes and before I forget. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies “features the original text of Jane Austen’s beloved novel with all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie action.” (from Andrew Sullivan via Bookslut)
